Getting to the office
Highway 41 runs north out of Coarsegold and into Oakhurst. Road 426 leaves the highway in town, and our office is at number 49414. Addresses along Road 426 do not run in a tight sequence, so navigate by the number itself rather than by a landmark.
Coarsegold spreads over a wide area, and the side roads off Highway 41 reach well back into the hills, so the first part of the route depends on where you start. Our directions page sets out the approach from the highway and has a map, and if you're not sure of the way, give us a call and we'll help you find us.
How we can help
Dr. Robert J. Brosi is a general dentist, and general dentistry covers most of what a household needs. Each of the pages below describes the treatment in plain terms and explains what to expect at the appointment.
- Keeping teeth
- Examinations, cleanings and x-rays, along with the soft tissue screening that is part of a routine visit. Decay can often be seen on a bitewing x-ray while it is still in the enamel, which is the stage at which treatment is simplest.
- Repairing teeth
- Fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures and root canal treatment, for teeth that are cracked, worn, infected or already lost.
- Gums and bone
- Charting, treatment and long term maintenance of gum disease. Gum disease is a leading cause of adult tooth loss, and in its early stages it often produces few symptoms.
- Appearance
- Whitening, bonding, veneers and porcelain crowns. The page reviews conservative options to consider before any treatment that removes tooth structure.
- Bite, alignment and sleep
- Jaw pain and clenching has its own page. So do clear aligner treatment and oral appliances for people who have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, and both walk through what the treatment involves.
- Urgent problems
- Broken teeth, lost crowns, swelling and severe pain. Give us a call and tell us what happened.
Office hours and appointments
We're open Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and closed Friday through Sunday.
To make an appointment, call us at (559) 683-4694 or use the appointment request form. When you call, let us know what you'd like to come in for, and if a specific tooth is bothering you, mention which tooth and what it has been doing.
Some treatment includes a laboratory stage. A crown, a bridge or a denture is crafted away from the office, which is why that kind of work takes more than one visit. When treatment is planned, we're happy to walk you through the sequence so you know how many appointments to expect.
Before your visit
- Complete your patient forms in advance, and have your medical history and medication details handy before you begin.
- Ask your previous dentist for copies of your records and recent x-rays. You have a right to copies, and recent images give us a baseline to compare against rather than a single image with no history.
- Bring a current list of medications, including anything for blood pressure, blood thinning or bone density. Each of those can affect dental treatment, and so can anything that dries the mouth.
- Questions about coverage and payment are easier to sort out before treatment is planned than afterward, and we're glad to talk them through. How dental benefits work.
- If you need to change an appointment, call (559) 683-4694 as early as you can.
